Going Green......
In an industry where the wild animals, healthy trees and clean water are the main attraction it seems only rational to take every possible effort to be protect , preserve and conserve our natural environment.
Sawtooth Adventure Company invites other outfitters, local businesses, and visitors to join the effort in their own way too show our state and federal government that the health of the natural environment not only makes ethical sense, but also economic sense.
Current Efforts
- SAC uses 100% chlorine-free, post consumer fibers for all its marketing and paper materials.
- SAC Printed a new enviro-friendly brochures in 2008 using soy-based ink
- All confirmation materials are sent via email or available online
- Whenever possible SAC uses e-mail, blogs, and other electronic means to market, and communicate
- SAC Fleet uses diesel vehicles with higher fuel economy
- New in 2008, SAC has implemented an electronic reservation system with online booking capabilities. This effort has drastically reduced our use of paper.
- SAC offers recycling for cans, plastic, and paper at its headquarters in Stanley. This includes the Palmer's Cafe.
- SAC is reducing the use of plastic one-use water bottles by offering optional refillable bottles on all trips.
- Recycling whenever possible on all SAC trips, SAC headquarters and Palmer's Cafe
- Cooperating with other outfitters and businesses in the area to reduce the use of fossil fuels.

- SAC is awaiting approval from the Forest Service to participate in an "adopt-a-trail' program.
- Participate in the planning and development of a Community Recycling Program.
