Join Salmon River Anglers and explore the tout-inhabited waters of the Salmon River. The headwaters of the Salmon is a gin clear, pool drop stream divided by swift ripples and boulders. This classic freestone river offers a variety of nymph and dry fly opportunities. Rainbow and native Cutthroat are abundant, while the elusive Bull Trout will test your skills. Salmon River Anglers strictly practices catch and release fishing for native fish. Due to the nature of this section of the Salmon, it is best fished by our Custom Fly Fishing Rigs.

Why fish from a boat?

Simply put, fly fishing from a boat is easier. No longer is the perfect cast required. Due to the nature of fishing from a boat it is much easier to create a realistic fly presentation, even for beginners.

SRA offers customized float boats that include comfortable angler seats, stabilization bars and dry feet casting platforms. SRA guides are down-to-earth anglers with in-depth local knowledge, patience and great technical teaching skills.

From Mid July through early September anglers can expect to catch a number of pan sized trout, along with a few big, healthy, & native Cutthroat and Bull trout. The fishing on this section of water has improved dramatically over the past few years due in large to efforts by the Idaho Fish and Game. It is so good that we guarantee you will catch fish, period.
